| Bespoke
- Custom made and designed to a customers individual needs. Carbon monoxide - Odourless, colourless, tasteless poisonous gas (a by product of incomplete combustion). Cast - Molten metal that has been shaped into a mould. Chimney - One or more vertical passageways for conveying flue gases to the outside atmosphere. Contemporary - A plain minimalistic style. Convector fires - Fires that draw in cold air from a room, passes it through a heat exchanger to warm it up and sends it back out into the room as warm air. This gives a more rapid and even heat distribution throughout a room. Corbel - A projection that supports weight. Fireplace - A structure surrounding a fire. Flue - The pipe for conveying hot air and smoke away. Fret - The front metal grill that is on a fire. Hearth - The part of the floor which a fire/fireplace stands on. Inlay - A decorative technique where small holes are gouged out of a wooden carcass and materials inserted flush against the wood to make a pattern - eg: pearl, metal or glass. Lintel - The strong support across a fire opening. Mantel - Also called a mantelpiece. The ornamental structure over and in front of a fireplace. Marfil - Man-made material, which combines marble and stone. Pilot - A small flame used to ignite the gas at the main burner. |
